Art making and creating have been an absorbing and fulfilling interest for me since childhood. After study at TAFE and university I continue to find the greatest enjoyment in the fundamental practice of drawing. I like to use a variety of media (eg. pencil, silverpoint, watercolour pencil and watercolour) on different supports. Currently I am exploring the art of papercutting in combination with mixed media as an extension of drawing. I look forward to working at BMCAC as an opportunity for shared enjoyment through art making and discussion.

Programme outlines for the mixed media and drawing classes.

Mixed Media: Introduction to the practices of mixed media and portraiture (which will serve as a theme). Surface treatments including frottage, printing paste paper and plaster paper. Decorate a folder to hold class work.
Discuss portraiture (incl. backgrounds to portraits) create portrait/s using surface treatments already explored.
Textured backgrounds using applied papers and collage (found objects etc.)
